FOURSOMES" COMPETITION. FARMERS’ AUCTIONEERING STAFF. At the Midget Golf Course last night members of the staff of the Farmers’ Co-oper%tive Auctioneering Company, decided a mixed-foursomes competition. Eight teams participated, most of the games being very evenly contested. The competitors later adjourned to the company’s office, where they partook of an enjoyable supper, which was provided by the lady members of the teams. Air T. Simpson, on behalf of the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Golf Club, presented to the winners of the competition, Air K. Welch and Aliss E. Walker, two complimentary tickets which had been handed to the club by the proprietors of the Tom Thumb Alidget Golf Course. Following were the results:— First Round. —E. Grattan and Aliss E. Alurray defeated'A. Schmitt and Aliss At. Johns, 2 up; K. Welch and Aliss E. Walker defeated W- .Mclntosh and Aliss J. Rountree, 4 and 2; W. Fi oude and Aliss K. Frost defeated R. Harrison and Aliss AI. Wa'lace, 4 up; T. Simpson and Aliss 11. Phillips defeated T. Hamilton and Aliss Perham, 3 and 2. ' Semi-finals. —Welch and Miss Walker defeated Grattan and Aliss Murray, 5 and -i: Froude and Miss Frost defeated Simpson and Aliss Phillips, 2 up. Final. —After an exciting contest, Welch and Aliss Walker defeated Froude and Aliss Frost after two extra holes had been played, this procedure being occasioned by lhe fact that the finalists were all square at the last hole. Inter-House Matches. The Alidget Golf Company have donated a challenge shield for interhouse competition. The matches will be commenced on Thursday, November 13, at 7.30 p.m., and the semifinals and final will be played on the following Alonday evening. The following is the draw: —Dalgety v. Farmers’ Auctioneering Company, New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co. v. Bank of New Zealand, House and Daking v. Para Rubber Company, Public Trust v. Post Office. Entries solicited.
