A KEEN DEMAND. DALGETY AND COMPANY. (Special to me Times.) AUCKLAND, Wednesday. At the weekly Westfield fat stock sale of' Messrs Dalgety and Company, to-day ox beef was offered in well up to average numbers. ' The demand was keen, late rates ruling firm. Values for light prime cattle were again better. Cow and heifer beef came forward in larger numbers than last week and sold at full late rates.

Extra choice ox sold to 49s per 1001 b.; choice .and prime 36s to 38s; second and plain, 34s to 355; prime young cow and heifer beef, 34s to 375; ordinary cow beef, 28s to 335.. Extra heavy prime steers made £ls 12s 6d to £ls 15s; heavy prime steers £l4 15s to £ls 10s; lighter, £l3 5s to £l4 12s 6d; light prime steers, £l2 5s to’ £l3 2s 6fL_ LOAN AND MERCANTILE. There was a steady demand, but little or no change in values on last week s sale. Extra choice ox sold to 39s per 100 lb, choice and prime 35s to 38s, secondary and plain 31s 34s, prime young cow and heifer beef 34s to 375, secondary 28s to 335.

Ileay prime steers ranged in price from £l4 to £l4 17s Od, lighter £l2 17s to £l3 17s 6d, light £ll to £l2 10s, small and unfinished £9 to £lO 10s; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers £lO 10s to £ll .15s, heavy £9 to £lO 7s 6cl, lighter £8 to £8 17s Od, light £6 10s to £7 15s; other cows £i to £6 ss.
