MOTOR CYCLING.

TE AWAMUTU CLUB. A very enjoyable afternoon's sport was arranged by the Te Awamu'lu Motor-cycle Club, when a run took place to the Narrows, between Rukuhia and Tamahere, and several competitions were ‘conducted. There were ten competitors in a hill-climbing contest, open to ail. Patterson won with Hie good time of 23 1-5 sec., C. Humphries being second in 25 secs., and RoboLlom third in 26 2-5 see. Ten starters competed in the handicap hill-climbing, and Campbell, off 6 secs., won in 22 1-5. secs., with Wilson, off 3 secs., second in 22 3-5 secs., and Gibson, off -i secs., third, in 23 secs. The slow race up-hill, with ten starters, created a great deal of interest, and it was won by Gibson in 2.38 1-5 secs. Pallersou was second in 2.37 secs., and Humphries third in

2.30 secs. Another slow race, on the flat, attracted Hie same number- of competitors, and victory went to Blomfieid in 1.2 4-5 sees, Humphries being second with 1.2 secs. In the acceleration test Humphries secured first honours in 9 sees., Gibson being second iii 9 3-5 secs., and Wilson third in 9 4-5 secs. | A second acceleration test saw Humphries again Hie winner in 9 secs, and P. Harford second in 9 1-5 secs. There were 11 competitors in eacli contest. The club’s observation test, embodying the trip to Hie Narrows and home again, saw eight riders tie l'or the honours with no faults. -
