ASSAULT CASE.

MAORI CONVICTED AND FINED. INCIDENT IN HOTEL. (Special to the Times.) HUNTLY, Monday. At the Huntly Police Court this morning Alexander McDonald, a Maori, was charged with assaulting Lewis Hodgson. The assault took place in the local hotel on Saturday afternoon. McDonald was convicted and fined £1 and costs, in default 7 days’ imprisonment. The Maori is a recent arrival employed by the Public Works Department.
