The Thames Valley Agricultural and Pastoral Association queen carnival committees "held a largely-attended ball last evening, when the votes for Hie queens were counted and announced. The result was: Southern Queen, Miss Clarke (Manawaru, 1; Northern Queen, Miss Dale (Elstow, 2; Western, Miss Kinniburgh (Waitoa, 3; Eastern, Miss Magill (Te Aroha), 4. The winner’s votes brought in £450 and Hie second £253, the total for the Queen Carnival fund being £lls0 —a magnificent result. The final function will he the crowning ceremony this f month.
