EX-SOLDIERS’ REPRESENTATIVE. THE OTAGO NOMINEE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Friday. A well-attended meeting of returned men decided unanimously to recommend Mr John McCrae as representative of the association on the Unemployment Board. ( Mr McCrae had lengthy service in Africa and France. He served for some years on the executive of the local association, and w a s president for a term. ' In returning thanks for his nomination Mr McCrae. said the aim of the board should be to endeavour to provide work of a development nature, and not to establish anything in the shape of a permanent dole system. THE WORKERS’ REPRESENTATIVES. SUPPORT FOR NOMINEES. AUCKLAND, Friday. The Auckland .Trades and Labour Council decided to support Mr F. S. Cornwall, of Wellington, and Mr S. Thurston, of Christchurch, as nominees for workers’ representatives on the Unemployment Board. The council strongly condemned the method of election, Mr Partell, the secretary, saying there was certain to be a storm if someone is appointed against the wishes of trade unionists.'
