Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., who selected a Southdown ram for Mr Padbury, of Western Australia, have just been advised that this ram was awarded the West Australian- Royal Championship at the Perth Show. This is a very good performance, as the ram was shipped via Melbourne, and only landed at Perth on the eve of the show. Messrs Wright, Stefphenson and Company, Ltd., have just landed from Australia a high-class stud merino ram for Mr James Stevenson, Flaxmere, *'Canterbury. This is the second ram imported on Mr Stevenson’s account this year, a special stud ram having been purchased at...the Sydney Royal sheep sales from Messrs F. S. Falkner and Sons, Ltd., Wanganella. The latest importation is from the stud of Mr Sage Bruce, Loombah, Cumnock, New South Wales. This ram is a particularly yvell-woolled sheep of good frame' and very high quality, and should prove to be a good acquisition. In connection with the importation of merinos from Australia it is worthy of note that Mr W. D. Fernie won the championship and reserve championship for rfierino rams at the recent Royal Show. The two rams were from'the flock of Messrs I*. S. Falkner and Co., Ltd., Boonoke.
