FINAL IN PROFESSIONAL. SEMI-FINAL IN AMATEUR. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., Friday. With the final of the professionals’ championship and the semi-finals of the amateur championship being played to-day, the New Zealand Golf Association's tournament is drawing to a close. The weather was windy and showery for play this morning. At the end or the first eighteen ] holes of the professionals’ championship Mclntosh was two up on Rutter, Later. Rutter won the final, G and 4. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. First Eighteen Holes. Cathro, one up on H. 11. Black. Horton, one up on J. L. Black. Comment on the Play. In the professional championship Mclntosh is playing a strong game, driving very long balls. _ Few mistakes were made by either player. Rutter is inclined to be short in bis approach putts, but was improving , towards the finish of the round/ In the amateur contest between Cathro and H. Black, both are making few mistakes, playing well under adverse conditions. Black ha ■ a la-.se at the tenth and fifteenth holes, short ! pulling being his weakness. Horton did fhe round in 74 against J. L. Black. He is playing a great game. Black is little behind him. Black abandoned the fifth and sevc'nth holes, and was three down at the •fifteenth. He made up the leeway, to
