WOUND IN THROAT.
WORKER AT ABATTOIRS. IN A CRITICAL CONDITION. PAID OFF FEW DAYS AGO. With a gaping wound In bis throat, Alec Tlmewell, aged 35, formerly employed at the Horotiu Freezing Works, Is lying In a critical condition In the Waikato Hospital. Timewell was discovered about 11 this morning lying in a pool of blood on the floor of one of -the workers’ bungalows in front of the abattoirs, with a frightful wound in the throat. It is understood a razor was found nearby. The St. John Ambulance was immediately summoned and the man was rushed to the Waikato Hospital where little hopes are held for his recovery. , fJ „ A single man, Timewell was paid off a few days ago as his services in the fellmongery were not longer necessary. He had handed in the bed and blankets lent him by the company and an official at the works stated to-day that he was surprised to learn that Timewell was still on the premises. Just before we went to press the police stated that a razor was found in the room near Timewell. There was evidence that the wound was selfinflicted.
