Accused told the police that the girl clrank poison .while he was sitting on a cliff with her. He stayed all night with her, then covered her body with bushes. Afterwards lie informed his family that the girl was being cared for by some people whose name lie had. forgotten.

The inquest’ was concluded on September 24 concerning the death of May Schubert, aged 14, a former resident of Gloucester, a village on the north coast. The girl’s skeleton was found by detectives in a lonely part of the bush at lledhead, near Newcastle. The coroner returned a verdict that death was due to poisoning by strychnine feloniously administered by deceased’s father.
