JOCKEY’S SUSPENSION. APPEAL BY B. H. MORRIS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. B. H. Morris has appealed to the Wellington District Committee to remove a sufficient number of days from the balance of his month’s suspension to enable him to ride on New Zealand Cup Day. At present Morris will have to miss the first two days of the fixture. If the appeal is successful Morris will have the mount on Concentrate in the New Zealand Cup. Otherwise Concentrate will be .ridden by L. G. Morris. The appeal will be heard in Wellington on Monday. \ While Phar Lap is at a ridiculous price for the Melbourne Cup, the three-year-olds Tregilla, Volimond, and Balloon King, are now being considered, says a Sydney writer. All kinds of stories are current about Phar Lap, the latest being a deliberate attempt to run him down with a motor-car. Glare and Cragford now being out of the Cup, he paralysed the market, and Soulton is the only other older horse being talked about. Both Glare and Cragford’s ailments have been diagnosed as internal, that of Cragford being thought to be due to the ravages of the .-bot-fly. It is considered that he has been a remarkable horse to have gone through his spring campaign with so much success.
