HOMING PIGEONS.
' . -"SttH HAMILTON CLUB’S EVENT. Continuing their programme of races for any age birds, the Hamilton Homing Club coiiteated a race from Palmerston North on Saturday, a distance of 180 miles. Mr Murphy liberated 69 birds at 10 o'clock in westerly wind and rain. The winning bird homed to Messrs Bushell and Sons loft at 3.41 p.m., these members scoring their initial win In the club. Results were:— = Bushell and Sons’ “silver, 91 i>ds per min, 1; R. Scott’s “Clever Maiy, 908yds per min, 2; E. Sutton s “2985," 839yds per min 3. Other members competing were: A. Sharpe. 836.1 yd&; W. G. Pountnev 836vds; C. Crabb and Son, S2Byds; 11. Ashton, 827yds; J. E. ITopldnson, 826yds; C. Mayes, I'. Woodhall.
