HAMILTON COUNCIL’S DECISION. WHITE REAR MUDGUARDS. Bicycles in the borough of Hamilton will have to have their rear mudguards painted with aluminium, as well as having a red reflector, according to the decision of the Borough Council last evening. The Hamilton branch of the Auckland Automobile Association wrote stressing the importance of effective rear reflectors on bicycles, but suggested, as it considered these inadequate unless of a certain make and properly adjusted to the machine, that the Council frame a by-law providing for the painting of rear mudguards in aluminium. It was stated that the danger to the cyclist was greater than lie thought, and that the present reflectors threw an undue responsibility upon motorists. It was decided to agree to the proposal as a desirable one. ——r —
