BOROUGH BATHS.
- . I HOURS OF OPENING. SLIGHT ALTERATION MADE. [ In a letter to the Hamilton Borough i Council the town clerk, Mr W. L. Wad- j i del, stated that it was proposed to i open the municipal swimming' baths about Saturday, November 1. ; The attendances between G. 30 -a.m. j and 7.30 a.m. during the months of November and March hardly warranted opening the building. -On occasions. last year in these months only one; person was there, and on numerous, days none at all. j He had been informed that it would! be a boon to adults if on Saturdays! the premises were closed, say from j 3.30 to 4 p.m. There had been many children who had made it a practice in the hottest months to go to the baths in the morning with their lunch and to stay until a late hour in the afternoon. i If the premises were closed as sug-1 tested it would enable the caretaker! to get the people who came early clear before those who desired to patronise the baths in the later afternoon came
along. _ I Mr Waddel recommended that with hose two exceptions the tiours be the same as last year. The Council decided to adopt the own clerk’s suggestions. .
