HORSHAM DOWNS.
Surprise Party. About 50 persons arranged to meet at Mr and Mrs J. W. Upson’s home on a recent night as a surprise party. The visitors were heartily welcomed in. Games, dances, etc., were indulged in until supper time. A vote of thanks to Mr and Mrs Upson closed a jolly evening. Land Drainage Matters. A lot of land in our district wmuld come under, the amalgamation scheme, hut ns we are situated it would not affec.t us very much. So far very little (in fact no) growling is heard. Most settlers are sure the country as a whole would benefit, and-when wc find that the Government has gone To such expense lo formulate a scheme for the benefit of all concerned it seems remarkable lo find so much dissension existing in neighbouring districts. Fellow Feeling. It was with regret that the loss by hro of the Bntotuna church became
known. As a neighbouring district we have always admired the keen and enthusiastic workers associated with it.
