LONDON WOOL SALES.
GOOD COMPETITION. United Press Assn. — Elec. Tel. Copyright. (Received May 23, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, May 22. At the wool sales 10,029 bales were offered, including 1785 from New Zealand. About 3470 bales were sold. There was a moderate selection of merinos, a good offering of slipes, and a limited supply of other descriptions. These met a steady tone with good competition, prices being maintained. New Zealahd clips, greasy crossbred, “hb/J,” 13d. New Zealand crossbreds were mainly slipes, including 1000 bales of “ Gear ” brand, of which the best half-bred lambs made 14Jd, but 300 bales “ Tomoana ” were mostly withdrawn at Did; 'best greasy, 58’s, realised 13d. The Bradford market is quiet, quotations are firm and unchanged. Stocks of tops are small.
