PROPOSED LOAN BY STATE. SAWMILLERS CANNOT ACCEPT. TAURANGA, Wednesday. As the outcome of a deputation which waited on the Minister of Lands, the Hon- G. W. Forbes, in Auckland recently, the New Zealand Flaxmillers’ Association was informed that the Government could not undertake the formation of a stabilisation fund, but was prepared to lend the association £4OOO, bearing interest at 5 per .cent, to enable the millers to establish their .own stablisation fund. This offer has been... carefully considered by the millers, w’ho find it impossible to take the action suggested by the Government.
