VALSTREET’S REHANDICAP. Mr F. J. McManemin has declared the following second rehandicap in respect to^Valstreef s engagements at Taumarunui:—Matiere Hack Handicap, 71b, making 9.1; Owhanga Hack Handicap, 71b, making 9.1. CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB. CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. An effort is being made to introduce “fresh blood” into the committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club, and a ticket with this object in view has been nominated. Among the names on the list are those of Sir Charles Clifford, Dr. Foster, Messrs H. A. Rhind, A. T. Donnelly, C. S. Thomas, Mawson Stewart, T. C. Robinson and J. 0. Coop. D. O’CONNOR SUSPENDED. WANGANUI, Saturday. For crossing while riding Lin Arlington, who finished second in the Rata Hack Hurdles to-day, D. O’Connor was suspended for a term of one month. The decision of the judicial committee to suspend O’Connor was not made until some time after the race, with the result tliat he was able to take the mount on Perle de Leon, on whom he also finished second, in the May Hurdles, the third race of the day.
