HAMILTON’S SHOW.
BUSY WEEK AHEAD. DAIRY JUDGING SHORTLY. To-morrow week will see the open-r mg by the Governor-General of the Waikato Winter Show, generally recognised as the largest of its kind in New Zealand. Advice has been received by the secretary, Mr W. H. Paul, from the Minister of Agriculture, that the Government will forward its usual exhibits in this.department. If they are in any way as interesting and enterprising as past exhibits they will again be one of the features of the Show. The Government will also be represented with displays by the Railway, Publicity and Forestry Departments. Applications for space are still being made, daily, and, of course, have to be rejected, as every inch of the Show buildings will be utilised. Practically all the dairy produce entries are to hand, and are being arranged with great -care at the end of one of the big sheds. Fourteen dairy inspectors will be here on Wednesday to judge the butter and cheese exhibits. This work entails the expenditure of much time and care, so is usually carried out before the bustle of the Show proper commences. With the record number of entries the task of the judges will be no light one. Preparations for the opening ceremony, timed to take 'place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday week, are almost completed.
