TE KAWA.
Householders’ Westing. The postponed householders’ meeting of the Te Kawa West district took place on Monday evening, when the following officers w 7 ere elected: Chairman, Mr R. Mexted; secretary, Mr W. G. Neill; committee, Messrs M. R. Ashton, E, Hopping, and P. Walters. It was decided to support the Junior High School scheme, there being but one dissentient. Welcome Rain. Heavy rain fell during the week-end, with beneficial results to pastures, gardens and households. The Loomb Cup. During the afternoon tea adjournment at the representative cricket match between Auckland and Waipa, Air R. Lord, the president of the association, presented the Loomb Cup to the Te Kawa cricket team. Mr W. M. Winter (captain) suitably responded. The local team has won this coveted trophy on two consecutive occasions, and deserves great felicitations. The cricketers will hold their annual ball shortly. Personal. Mrs L. G. Ashton, of Auckland, has returned to her home after spending a few days in Te Kawa.
