THE UPTON CUP. CONTEST AT AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Saturday. The ninth annual contest by boats of the 22ft centreboard class for the handsom; cup presented to the Ponsonby Cruising Club by Sir Thomas Lipton was sailed this afternoon in a very fresh breeze from the southwest. It resulted in a win for Marie, representing the Tamaki Yacht Club, and sailed by Vic. Lidgard, by 2min 2sec from Rakoa, representing the Devonport Yacht Club, and sailed by R. Logan, jun., with Valeria third.
