COATS FOR THE WINTER
Judging by the first of the autumn dress shows winter coats are not going to be surprisingly different from those worn last, year. The wrappedover coat with uneven hem hanging in draped folds is a pleasant addition to the wardrobe of the woman who can afford several coats. A wiser choice for those who arc more restricted in making a selection vo uld be one of the straight-cut •oats collared and cuffed with fur. Hiesc arc not “new,” but they are dill as smart, as anything can be and :s serviceable. A travelling coat seen at a recent dress show was a clouded check woollen material in quiet blue, green and grey, and had a long pointed cape it the back. , . „ Velevet coats are very becoming One of brown velvet, trimmed with ■lipped beige fur, showed matching •repe de chine arranged in a border alongide the fur, the crepe de chine ippearing between the neckline and he fur collar. A maroon velvet coat luxuriantly trimmed with lynx was worn with an unsophisticated cap-like little hat# in velvet to match. _
