RETIREMENTS ANNOUNCED. (Rv Telegraph.—Press Association.) 1 1 WELLINGTON, Monday. Several important retirements from the Public Service took place as from to-day. The officers concerned were: — Mr J. B. Christie, solicitor of the State Advances Department, 22 1 years’ service. Air T. R. Herd, assistant comptroller of customc, 40 years’ service. Colonel T. A. Hunter, director of the division of dental hygiene, 10 years’ service. Dr. J. S. AlacLaurin, Dominion analyst, 29 years’ service. Mr G. Halliday, land purchase officer, 40 years’ sendee. Mr J. Porteous, senior inspector of native schools, 30 years’ service. Mr A. Crawford, acting senior inspector of schools, Wanganui, 31 years’ service.
