Caught in a strong undertow at Black Head Beach, near Ballins, a man named Nott and Mrs. Piercey were swept out to sea and drowned. Mrs Piercey’s husband was able lo rescue his daughter, wiio was also in, difficulties. Nott’s body has not been recovered.
