£IOOO RAISED AT THAMES. PURCHASE OF WAIOMIO PARK. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) THAMES, Saturday. The Waiomio Queen Carnival, which has been running for the past three months, .to raise funds for the purchase of Waiomio Park, on the Thames Coast, as a public resort, concluded last night, when the voting disclosed a win for Die Business Queen, Miss P. Boyle. The Sports Queen, Miss J. Grubb, was second, and the Thames Valley Queen, Miss M. Elliott, third. The total amount raised was £IOOO. which it is hoped will be augumenled by a Government subsidy. This will enable the ground to be secured for all time'.
