RIFLE SHOOTING

NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION. (By Telegrapn—Press Association.) TRENTHAM, Tuesday. The eighth annual meeting of the New Zealand Army Rifle Association opened at Trentham to-day. It is anticipated that the strength in camp will he over 600, which constitutes a record. A camp feature of the meeting is that all previous King's Medal winners will compete. There are 62 4 competitors, being 56 in advance of last year. .The total strength of all ranks is 829. Brigadier Burgess, addressing the assembly, impressed upon the contestants the necessity of discipline and good conduct. Everything possible has been accomplished to ensure- the comfort and health of the youths, 40 per cent, of whom are attending the meeting for the first time. Every unit of the Territorial and Cadet Forces in New Zealand is represented, also naval and air forces.
