South Australia, the visitors in their first innings made 215 runs (Grimmett 42, Wall 33, not out). Chilvers took four wickets for 57 runs. Fairfax three for 43. Following on South Australia in their second innings only made 100. Fairfax took four wickets for 19 runs, and Chilvers four for 30. New South Wales won by an innings and 200 runs. The wicket today was seriously affected by the week-end rain.
