WORSHIP IN THE OPEN.
ANGLICAN MEN’S IDEA. FERRY BANK SERVICE. Provisional arrangements for an open-air service at Ferry Bank on Sunday evening, February 2, were made at an executive meeting of the St. Peter’s branch of the Church of England Men’s Society this morning. The service, which will follow evensong at the Cathedral, and will commence at 8.15 p.m., will probably mark the farewell to the Bishop of Waikato before his departure ito England. It is planned to make the service short, bright and popular, and a large rally of church people of all denominations is hoped for. Vv'eilknown and tuneful hymns will be selected. Choir, soloists and speakers will be accommodated on the band rotunda ,and suitable illuminations are to be provided. Bishop Chernngton will give an address. Proposals for having the service broadcast were discussed and lefcrred to a committee to finalise. The scheme has already been approved by the Bishop.
