HAGUE CONVENTION. HARMONIOUS ATMOSPHERE. MR SNOWDEN REBUKES GERMANSUnited Press Assn.—Elec. Tel.—Copyright THE HAGUE, Jan. 9. At the conference regarding German reparation steady progress was reported to-day. There was a pleasant atmosphere of harmony, perhaps be : cause the question whether Germany should pay on the 15th or the 30th of each month had been shelved for the time being. it is stated that Mr Snowden (Britain) and M. Tardieu (France) have reached a general understanding, which is in contrast with the state of affairs between England and France at the August conference. Mr Snowden to-day reminded the Germans of the necessity for avoiding needless discussion on technicalities, as the time was short. The Germans took the rebuke in good part. The Germans are preparing counter proposals to the French suggestions upon sanctions. .
