MORRINSVILLE NOTES.
School Examinations. The annual national scholarship e\aminations have been held during the week. Seven pupils sal l'or senior national scholarship and four for .junior free place. Confirmation Service. The Bishop of Waikato, the Right Rev. C.. A. Cherrington, held a special confirmation service in St- Matthew’s Church, Morrinsville, when 20 candidates were admitted by the Bishop to the fellowship of the church. Ihe congregation was the largest ever accommodated in the church- The Rev. F. W- Wilkes assisted in the service and Canon R. Karaka acted as Bishop's chaplain-
Band of Hope. The Morrinsville Combined riand of Hope held its llnal meeting of the season on Friday evening in the Masonic llali, which was well Ailed with young people- The evening was spent in games and a mock court, which afforded great amusement. During the evening the registrar gave the number of those who had signed the pledge, at 55. The chairman, Rev. J. 11. Starnes, presented appropriate cards to several new members and spoke a word of counsel. After the meeting supper was served. The meetings held during the year had been a great success. The committee met afterwards, and it was decided to recommence next year in May.
