EDUCATION IN BRITAIN.

RAISING THE SOHOOL AGE. SYSTEM OF MAINTENANCE GRANTS BILL TO BE INTRODUCED. United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. — Copyright LONDON, Nov- 13In the House of Commons, Sir DMac Lean moved calling on the Government without delay to introduce its scheme to increase the minimum school-leaving age to 15. Sir G. P. Trevelyan, Prseident of the Board of Education, replying, said he was gratified that no great body of opinion was opposed to the raising of the age and no section of the working class objected because it was perfectly understood that it would be accompanied by maintenance grants. Side by side with this great educational change they were trying to give a real chance for an advance in education of all children over 11 years of age. He proposed to.introduce the Bill before Christmas.
