INVERCARGILL, Friday.

Latest information states that two ways of escape by the entombed miners are cut off by the spread of gas. Two men were killed —Robert Johnson, married, with four children, and Anthony McCoy, married, with one child.

Harry Kitto is still entombed, and it is feared that he may succumb- The rescuers are endeavouring to reach him.
