HIDE AND SEEK.
AUSTRALIAN’S ESCAPADE.
STRANGE CONDUOT IN LONDON.
BOUND OVER BY THE COURT. United Press Assn.-—Elec. Tel.-—'Copyright LONDON, Nov. 12. Hide-and-seek with a policeman was the form of amusement which an Australian farmer in London is alleged to have taken. The game, which lasted for some time, ended in the Police Court. The man is Ormond John Brewer, 36, of the Windsor Hotel, Lancaster Gate. He was charged at the Marylebone Police Court with being a suspected person. The police, in evidence, said that Brewer entered through an area gate, ran away as the police approached, and later bolted when the police discovered him behind a pillar. He was next seen climbing railings at Lancaster Gate. He told the police that he had no reason for loitering. They found a torch, 17 keys, and two pairs of white gloves on him. Brewer said he had a substantial banking account. The magistrate said that it was a curious way for Brewer to amuse himself and remanded him for inquiries .and a medical report. To-day Brewer was again brought before the Court and bound over in a surety of £5 to be of good conduct for one year. Brewer has now been placed in’the care of a male attendant and will consult a specialist before he sails for Australia in three weeks.
