AT WAIKATO HOBPITAL. CONTRACT LET AT £12,440. Numerous tenders were received by the Waikato Hospital Board to-day for the erection of the Maternity Ward, the estimated cost of which was £12,000. The board accepted the lowest tender —that of Mr W. B. Young, of Hamilton, at £12,440 —-subject to the Department's approval, which must be obtained as the amount is above the estimate. The consent of the Minister of Health to the erection of the ward ■was received at to-day’s meeting.
