OBITUARY
EARL OF MEATH. (Received Oct. 12, 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 11. The death is announced of tha Earl of Meath, aged 87. Reginald Brabazon, 12th Earl of Meath was born in 1841. He was educated at Eton and in Germany. He entered the Foreign Office as clerk In 1863, but exchanged in 1868 into the diplomatic service, holding office successively at Frankfort, Berlin, tha Hague and Paris. He was actively engaged in social and philanthropic work, being the founder and chairman of numerous social service movements, especially among young people. His publications include “Memories of the 19th Centurary," "Thoughts on Imperial and Social Subjects.” "Prosperity and Pauperism,” and “Great Britain in Europe.” He was a frequent contributor to the Nineteenth Century and other reviews. Lord Meath is survived by three sons and two daughters.
