Hatry and his co-defendants wers remanded till October 14, bail w’as refused. Abram Allibone, Town Clerk of Wakefield, gave evidence that the •Corporation and General securities issued the Wakefield Loan for £750,000 in January. Dixon decided that £50,000 should be remitted in March, and £IOO,OOO at the end of August. Wakefield had only received £IOO,OOO and Dixon promised to remit £200,000 early in September and invest the balance, but he failed to do so. Albert Cutter Buck, city treasurer of Gloucester, gave evidence that the corporation issued in January a £500,000 loan on 'behalf of Gloucester, which received the money in instalments. Though the city, by the end of August had received only £250,000, applications for the registration of scrip amounted to £750,000.
