ACTRESS MARRIED.
A CHARMING BRIDE. At St. Glies-ln-the-Fields, London, Miss Jean Forbes-Robertson, daughter of Sir Johnston and Lady ForbesRobertson, was married to Mr James Hamilton, the publisher and wellknown oarsman. Outside the church, where crowds of her admirers waited for a glimpse of the bride, the sun shone brilliantly (says the London Era), and inside the cheerful atmosphere was repeated in the decorations of green leaves and golden (lowers, and in the dresses of (lie bridesmaids—Miss Ciiloe and Miss Diana Forbes-Robertson—which were of gold cbiffon with chaplets of green and gold leaves in their hair. They carried sheaves of yellow gladioli, golden rod and marguerites.
The bride, lovely in her mediaeval dress of while and gold brocade, carried a posy of water lilies—a charming and original touch—and wore a wreath of jasmine and orange blossoms over her white tulle bridal veil. The bride's dress had, apart from its beauty, which recalled the bride’s Juliet to those who have been privileged to see it, a special interest, for it was made by Lady Forbes-Robert-son’s dresser, who has been with her for thirty years. Her gold and silver belt, which once belonged to Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and had been worn in “Much Ado About Nothing" by
Elion Terry, was presented to Miss Forbes-Robertson by Lady Alix Egerton. Another of her ornaments was a silver brooch—the design a crown imposed upon a heart —which was given lo Flora Macdonald by Bonnie Prince Charlie. It lias been worn on the stage by Mrs Siddons, ■ Edmund Kean, Sir Herbert Tree, and other well-known actors and actresses. Dr. C. 11. S. Taylor, who stroked the Cambridge boat in 1925, was best man, and the six ushers were all rowing blues. A great many famous people representing tlie stage and literature were at the church and at llie reception afterwards. The bride travelled in a blue two-piece suit willi a spray of petunia orchids on the shoulder. As a former "Peter Pan" it was appropriate Hint she should lly from Croydon to France for the first stage of her honeymoon, which was spent at St. Jcan-dc-Luz. Miss Forbes-Robertson was in Hamilton some years ago with her mother, playing in "Woman to Woman.”
