The Auckland Racing Club concluded its two days Spring meeting at Ellerslle yesterday, when the weather was again ideal, the attendance good and the racing very successful. The honours in the principal event, tho King Edward Memorial Handicap, went to tho Hastings representative, Hunting Cry, from Vertigorn and High Pitch, while the Taranaki candidate Havering led the sprinters home in the Epsom Handicap at the close of which Silvermine and Awarere were handiest of the others. Sea Cob scored from Arikltoa and Motere in the Normanby Handicap; the Manukau Hurdles fell to Elysianor from Catonian and Horomea; tho Onehunga Steeples saw Lady Spalpeen prevail from Sea Comet and Calithe; Chief Link beat Sight Draft and Chrysology In the Musket Stakes; the Hobson Handicap was annexed by Refresher from Gay Cockade and Appellant while Eager Rose led the field home in the Liverpool Handicap, the concluding event of the meeting, in which Le Choucas and Merry Mint were second and third respectively. Eager Rose returned a big dividend. / The totalisator returns at the latost meeting showed an Increase of £19,000.
