Pearson was again before the Court on a charge of administering poison to his wife. The police prosecutor stated he had no evidence to offer, and as Pearson’s wife would not give evidence there was no use in proceeding further. Pearson thereupon was discharged. The 'body of Pearson’3 former wife was recently exhumed, and was 'found to contain zinc but expert evidence was unable to afllrm whether death resulted from the poison or from some other cause. Pearson, who was charged with murder, was acquitted on that charge.
