NATIVE LAND COURT,

SITTING AT MORRINSVILLE, The sitting of the Native Land Court was continued at Morrinsvllle on Thursday. Mr Justice McCormick stated that the cases not dealt with during the day would have to be adjourned owing to his having to hold a sitting elsewhere. Some idea of -the extent of the business done by the Native Land Court can be gained by the fact that in one case before the Court at the sitting there were over 500 applicants for a share in one block of land of 900 acres. The i'act that all the evidence has to he interpreted makes progress slow.

During the hearing of a case a Maori man, when giving evidence as to the character of one of the claimants, somewhat upset the gravity of the Court by saying: “Oh, him a fool; him mad, not like Your Honour.”
