RAGLAN V. WAIKATO. A representative match between Raglan and Waikato will be played at Boyes Farit at 2 p.m. The Waikato team will he: —Backs, V. Newell, N. Jackson, J. Roundtree; half-backs, I. Fow, E. Rye, V. McPherson; forwards, Mrs Gee, 11. Hyburn, J. Davidson, E. Newell, Black. Emergencies: Mrs W. Reid, D. Flexman. LADIES’ HOCKEY TOURNAMENT. DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. GISBORNE, Thursday. The New Zealand ladies’ hockey championship tournament opened this afternoon. The 14 learns competing, headed by the City Band, marched in double 'lines round the ground. Each team was accorded an enthusiastic -ovation. Following are the results of Ihe play:— Section A. —Poverty Bay A 4 v. South Canterbury 2; Rotorua 3 v. Bush 2; Ruahine (Dannevirke) 5 v. Auckland A 1. Section B. —Wairarapa 5 v. Auckland B 1; Wellington 5 v. Poverty Bay B 0; Canterbury B 4 v. Hawke's Bay 2. The following selectors were chosen to-night for the inter-island match:— North Island: Miss Dawson, Auckland, and Messrs I. Scott, Wellington and T. Smalc, Poverty Bay. South Island: Messrs 11. Thropp, Canterbury, R. Surgenor, Southland, and 11. Hamilton, Eastern Southland.
