Another fatality occurred near Danncvirke last evening, w’hen a car went over Gibb’s Hill, near Mangatera. It was driven by James Scott Smith, motor salesman, and with him was C. M. Peak, assistant in the Government Audit Office. The car was on the way to Napier, and when nearing the top of the hill commenced to skid, and almost before the driver could regain control it leaped over the bank, dropping about 20 feet. Peak was killed instantly, dislocating bis neck. Ilis companion escaped with a few abrasions.
