The Hon. E. W. Alison, who has been confined to his home at Takapuna for a fortnight, is recovering from his illness.

Air S. S. Dean, chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, returned to Wellington by the Makura from Sydney.

It being necessary for the purpose of incorporation that the membership of the Hamilton Beautifying Society be at least lb, Mr. J. R. Fow and Dr. Beveridge were elected at the meeting of the society last evening to make up Hie requisite number.
