WANDERERS AT PUKEMIRO GAME ABANDONED. Wanderers travelled to Pukemiro on Saturday to meet the local eleven under Howden Shield auspices. Pukemiro were at full strength, hut the visitors were without several of their regulars. Play commenced half an hour latm Pukemiro, winning the toss, chose to play with the gale and tide. Weather conditions were atrocious, it being an impossibility to control the ball on the heavy ground, which in places was so bad that the players sank over their boot-tops. Heavy rain and a driving wind did not improve matters. Play during the first 25 minutes was very brisk, Pukemiro having the best of matters territorially, but were unable to press home their advantage, Wanderers being content tu keep them out.
