STAFF DANCE.

GREAT BARGAIN STORES. ANNUAL FUNCTION. The Great Bargain Stores held their first annual dance on Thursday evening at the Regent ballroom. Balloons, ■streamers, Chinese . lanterns, .and masses of wattle decorated the hall and gave a gay and lovely effect. The lovely frocks worn by many of the dancers added to the general prettiness of the scene, and a happy evening’s dancing was spent by the crowd present. Excellent music was played, and a confetti dance was a very popular part of the programme. The supper, which was catered for by a competent and energetic committee, was delicious, and the supper tables were arranged in tangerine and white, Mr Caro’s racing colours. Mrs R. McIntosh, wearing a charming frock of apricot taffeta, acted as hostess, and received the many guests. The ladies’ ■committee, to which much praise is due, was Miss K. Branton, whose frock was of black satin and silver lace -.Miss R. McCarthy, wearing periwinkle blue frilled taffeta; Miss E. Sweeney, in wisteria shaded crepe de chine; Miss K. Nicol, wearing hydrangea blue satin and lace; Miss L. Sanders, whose frock was of ivory embossed georgette’; and Miss D. Collins, wearing hyacinth blue frilled georgette. The early hours of the

morning brought the dance to a close, after a very successful and happy evening had been spent.
