LOU HALL FOR ST HELEN’S.
FORMER WAIKATO PLAYER. Lon Hall, who is among the latest League players in to sign up with an English Club (St. Helens), learned his football at the Hamilton High School, where he was a member of the flrsl fifteen. He played for Lower Waikato at the age of sixteen, and afterwards represented South Auckland. Hall went to Auckland towards the end of 1925 season and played for Ponsonby, Next year he represented Auckland and the North Island In the League trials of that season, still playing for Auckland and the North Island over 1927-28. Hall's great achievement was to play in all three Tests against the Englishmen last season. His play at that time stamped him as one of the finest forwards the code has produced in New Zealand. Hall is twenty-five years of age, weighs 11s 71b, and is just over six feet in height. A magnificent type of player, tie has the knack of rising to the occasion.
