NGARUAWAHIA CLUB.

TIIE ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Ngaruavvahia Rowling Club Mr Garry (president) occupied the chair. There was a Very fair attendance of members. * The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted: Patron, Mr .T. D. Joy; president, Mr J. Bickct; vicepresidents, Messrs G. A. Avery, P. Poulscn and J. Redpaih; secretary, Mr W. Blewden; treasurer, Mr A. Gcrring: green superintendent, Mr A. j. Garry; assistant green superintendent, Mr J. S. Johnson; committee, Messrs 11. Rodgers,* W. Clovis, J. Heron, 11. Fraser, R. MacFarlane, Wilkinson and Row; sole selector for the inter-club matches, Mr J. Heron; match Committee for club matches, Messrs Rodgers, Heron and Fraser; delegate to the South Auckland Bowling Centre, Mr G. A. Avery; auditor, Mr W. G. Adams.

Messrs J. S. Johnson, H. Rodgers, and A. Brewer were appointed a social committee. Votes of Thanks.

A vote of thanks was extended to the past president, Mr A. J. Garry, for the enthusiastic manner in which he discharged his duties as president, also for ttie valuable' work he had done towards the improvement of the green. A vote of thanks was also extended to the retiring secretary, Mr 11. Fraser, who had so capably filled the position for the past 12 months.. In reviewing the last season’s play satisfaction was expressed regarding the improved playing qualities of the green. The singles championship for the past season was annexed by Mr Russel MacFarlane. This goes to prove that the game of bowls is not restricted to those of declining years.
