SECOND BATTERY
DISBANDMENT RUMOURED. NO OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. Although the local headquarters of the Defence Department has received no official notification from General Headquarters that the 2nd Field Battery N.Z.A. will be disbanded it is expected a move will lie made in this direction shortly. The, ball cry may parade in a week or so for Hie last time. The breaking-up of the 2nd Battery will not be good nev’.> to those of its members who served in it throughout the war, when it was known as G Battery. Moreover, the disappearance of the 2nd Battery will mean that all the main arms of the service will have units in Hamilton with t-lic exception of the artillery. Present members will probably be posted to other units. The 2nd Buttery has been in existence since 1911. ,
