DRAMATIC SUICIDE
DURING MENTAL DEPRESSION THREW HERSELF BEFORE TRAIN. (By Telegrapu. —Press Association.) ILVWERA, Thursday. At an inqquest on Gladys Ethel Evans, aged 27, who was run over by a train at a level crossing on Tuesday, the corner found last night that deceased committed suicide by throwing herself in front of a train while in a state of deep mental depression. Evidence was given that before the train was due deceased was seen in the vicinity of the crossing, and when the train approached she walked along the cattle-stop, taking no notice of the train whistle. She then appeared to lean over and fold her arms over the rails. Four days previously she had been discharged from a maternity hospital, where her child had been born dead, causing her acute distress.
