A few cases of blackleg among calves lias been reported throughout the Waikato, Iml as ihese arc reported each year there is no cause for alarm, steps having been taken by, the Agricultural Department to prevent the disease spreading. When cases of this nature arc reported calves in the disrict affected arc immediately inoculated, and thus flie spread of the disease is chocked. Tiie outbreak is no wprse than in the (wo preceding seasons.

Farmers are prohibited from sending infected stock out of Ihe Waikato District, but if is permissible to drive calves to sales within their own district.
